Thank you for your interest in Silver Sands Montessori Charter School (SSMCS). SSMCS will open enrollment to the public for the 2010-2011 School Year beginning January 19, 2010.

The Student Registration Form is required to start the enrollment process. Forms will be date and time stamped and will be used to determine placement/admittance on a first-come first-serve basis until the charter school reaches its maximum capacity per grade and then any remaining students will be placed on a waiting list and selected through a lottery if an opening should occur.

Once SSMCS has determined the actual number of openings for the school year, the parent/guardian will be contacted in the order that the Student Registration Form was received. If the parent/guardian is still interested in attending the charter school, they will be asked to complete the registration process. Please note that submission of the Student Registration Form does not constitute "official" admittance to the charter school, but it is a very important first step in the process and determines the order of placement in the charter school. Additional steps that are needed in order to complete enrollment include, but is not limited to: attendance of a parent orientation meeting, staff interview with parent and student and if it is agreed that this is the best placement for the child, an appointment will be scheduled to complete the enrollment process with additional forms and documentation that are to be completed and provided, i.e. original birth certificate, immunization records, etc.

A letter and forms were sent home on Monday, January 11 requesting parents to re-enroll for the next school year.  Based on the phone calls we have been receiving, we anticipate that we will get our enrollment to capacity. 

Applications from the general public will be accepted as of January 19, 2010, so please make sure that you complete your re-enrollment form by the due date so that we may reserve a spot for your child. If you have siblings that would like to attend this next school year, please make sure that you complete a 2010-2011 Student Registration Form and indicate that it is an application for a sibling of a currently enrolled student by checking the referral box and writing “Sibling” and the name of the student currently attending SSMCS. (The 2010-2011 registration form will be available on our website on 1/19/10.)

If you know of anyone who would like to attend, please invite them to stop by and fill out a registration form.
