2017-2018 Open Enrollment

Enrollment Information

Beginning Monday, January 23rd at 8:00 a.m., the 2017-2018 Student Registration Form <=click on link will be available to print online or obtain in the office at the school. You will be able to submit it by fax or mail the registration form to Silver Sands Montessori Charter School, 1841 Whitney Mesa Drive,  Henderson, NV 89014, or email a scanned application to enrollment@SilverSandsMCS.org. If you have any questions concerning enrollment or the registration form please contact Ms. Danette at ms.danette@SilverSandsMCS.org .

The Student Registration Form is required to start the enrollment process. Silver Sands Montessori Charter School will maintain a goal of keeping families together, whenever possible. Therefore, placement priority is given first to the currently enrolled students of Silver Sands Montessori Charter School, then to siblings of enrolled students. If there are more siblings than openings we will go to a lottery system. After we have completed this process we will open the enrollment to the public, using the enrollment and lottery process as follows:

For Kindergarten, enrollment forms will be accepted during an enrollment window beginning January 23 and ending on February 17.  If the number of enrollment seekers is greater than the number of openings, a lottery will be conducted after the close of the enrollment window to determine the order that the students will be enrolled and the waiting list enrollment order of the remaining students.  Enrollment forms received after the enrollment window will be added to the waiting list, but they will not be assigned an enrollment order number. If needed, another lottery will be conducted to determine the order numbers and they will be added to the waiting list and contacted in that order.

For grades 1-8, enrollment forms will be accepted beginning on January 23 and will be date/time stamped. Once re-enrollment has been finalized for our currently enrolled students, we will know how many openings that we have in each grade level. If there are openings, they will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis until the charter school reaches its maximum capacity per grade and then any remaining students will be placed on a waiting list. If an opening occurs at any time, a lottery will be conducted to determine the waiting list enrollment order.

Parent/guardians will be contacted in the order established by the lottery/enrollment description. If the parent/guardian is still interested in attending the charter school, they will be asked to complete the registration process.

Please note that submission of the Student Registration Form does not constitute "official" admittance to the charter school, but it is a very important first step in the process and determines the order of placement in the charter school. Additional steps that are needed in order to complete enrollment include, but are not limited to: attendance at a parent orientation meeting, and if it is agreed that this is the best placement for the child, an appointment will be scheduled to complete the enrollment process with additional forms and documentation that are to be completed and provided, i.e. original birth certificate, immunization records, etc.
